1). Jim, your band will be playing at the Cavern Club and Cavern Pub on Friday May 29th as part of International Pop Overthrow. The Cavern Club website describes one goal of the I.P.O. as “to give every worthy band who’d like to play their music in a festival atmosphere the chance to do so.” It’s a common occurrence for band members to guest during each other’s sets.” Who have you played with in the past, and do you plan to guest with any artists this time?
Hi Mike, it’s always exciting for us to be invited to play IPO Liverpool, it’s such a great festival to be part of, thank you to David Bash for the invite. Bands come in from all over the world and there’s a real sense of community; you’re guaranteed to hear some great music and discover some new favourite bands. As you mention, many bands guest with each other, you ever know who might walk out, but we prefer to play on our own, with the audience as our 5th member; they become part of the band and we always encourage them to make some noise and be involved.
2). It’s been over six decades since the last Beatles performance at the Cavern Club (August 3, 1963). A number of artists who have played there in the modern era say they can still feel the vibe when they perform there. What does this venue mean to you, personally?
You can’t help but feel that vibe and the venue’s history when you walk down those famous steps, it’s in the air, Liverpool is such a musical city, everyone is in a band or knows someone who is. I’m sure every musician who steps out on to that stage is fully aware of the footsteps they’re walking in. As well as The Beatles, bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Crowded House and Oasis have played, so you’re in some pretty amazing company.

3). You’ve started work on the next It’s Karma It’s Cool album. What can listeners expect from your newest material?
I can’t say too much at this point, but there’s more of a story running through these new songs, we’ve pushed our songwriting and it feels like a natural progression from our latest album ‘One Million Suburban Sunsets’ I think they’re some of the best songs we’ve written, and it’s already sounding huge. People who have followed us this far won’t be disappointed.
