They&#8217;ll surprise you every time, and pleasantly so.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/orbis-max-the-covid-collaborations-2020-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\">Orbis Max: The COVID Collaborations 2020-2021<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;The whole album is a celebration of what Orbis Max does best, as well as a love letter to the creative process itself.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/big-stir-singles-the-tenth-wave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Big Stir Singles, The Tenth Wave<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;This isn\u2019t escapist entertainment, it\u2019s dancing in the acid rain of our current society.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/the-armoires-incognito\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Armoires, Incognito<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;This is one of the most significant and essential albums of 2021.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/the-incurables-funhouse\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Incurables, Funhouse<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;When this band sings \u201cMuzzle to muzzle, anything goes,\u201d you\u2019re just as apt to visialize a David Lynch film as you are to envision sweet and cuddly Muppets.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/the-metal-byrds-byrds-on-a-wyre-ep\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Metal Byrds, Byrds On A Wyre EP<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;Any trip to the past with this band is immediately overridden by a ride into the future. They\u2019re not looking back and they\u2019re not standing still. They\u2019re roaring down the rock and roll highway, and you should jump in and go along for the ride.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Spygenius, Man On The Sea (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/spygenius-man-on-the-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\">Spygenius, Man On The Sea<\/a><\/strong>&#8230; <strong><em>Spygenius<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;can throw down pure pop for now people with the best of them\u2026but there\u2019s more, a LOT more, and if you can just sideline the need for a quick and easy to digest meal of what is expected, you\u2019ll be thrilled with where this album takes you.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Michael Des Barres, Anarchy In The U.K (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/michael-des-barres-anarchy-in-the-u-k\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Des Barres, Anarchy In The U.K<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;As&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>Michael<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;sings&nbsp;\u201cI wanna destroy passers by\u201d&nbsp;with cool, detached weary smoothness and is joined by the angelic choir on&nbsp;\u201cI\u2026wanna be\u2026anarchy,\u201d&nbsp;we are visited by the ghost of&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>Lou Reed<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;via&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>Dion And The Belmonts<\/em><\/strong><em>, the seemingly inexplicable gossamer thread that connects soul, doo-wop, and punk.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/its-karma-its-cool-woke-up-in-hollywood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"It's Karma It's Cool, Woke Up In Hollywood (opens in a new tab)\">It&#8217;s Karma It&#8217;s Cool, Woke Up In Hollywood<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;<\/em><strong><em>\u201cHipsters And Aeroplanes\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><em>raised the question \u201cThis is great, wonder what they\u2019d do with a full album?\u201d That question\u2019s now been answered\u2026It\u2019s Karma It\u2019s Cool has delivered a solid, tuneful, thoughtful and engaging work of art. Here\u2019s to many more.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/the-corner-laughers-temescal-telegraph\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"The Corner Laughers, Temescal Telegraph (opens in a new tab)\">The Corner Laughers, Temescal Telegraph<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;Sometimes you play an album, and other times you enter a realm.&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>The Corner Laughers<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;could be described on first pass as gentle folk rock, with an undercurrent of psychedelia, but there\u2019s a depth and complexity that stretches past what initially greets you on the surface.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mikedeangelis.com\/2019\/the-incurables-far-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"The Incurables, &quot;Far Away&quot; (opens in a new tab)\">The Incurables, &#8220;Far Away&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;<em>&#8220;<\/em><strong><em>The Incurables\u2019<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;debut single on Big Stir Records,&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>\u201cFar Away\u201d<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;b\/w&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>\u201cSoda Pop\u201d<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;has arrived, and it\u2019s an immediate confirmation of the drum I\u2019ve been banging since I first heard the band last year\u2026this band and this record label are a perfect match, and this union was written in the stars as the most inevitable moment of 2020. It runs the gamut of holiday emotions, celebrating the Winter Wonderland while not shying away from the darker aspects of the season. Pepper \/ Magical Mystery Tour\u201d<\/em><\/strong><em> era.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Big Stir Singles: The Fourth Wave.
